Dollar Holds Overnight Gains

Cairo: The US dollar held on to overnight gains against major peers today: The US dollar held steady at $1.1685 per euro today, following a 0.3% rebound in the prior session. It was flat at 0.7953 Swiss franc after leaping 0.7% overnight. The risk-sensitive Aussie rose 0.4% to $0.6791, a level not seen since October 2024. It also hit the highest since July 2024 at 107.52 yen. The yen was steady against most major peers in Asian trading today, but at 184.83 a euro.

According to Oman News Agency, the stability of the US dollar comes after a session where it rebounded by 0.3% against the euro. Meanwhile, the dollar maintained its position against the Swiss franc, remaining unchanged at 0.7953 after a significant rise the previous night. The Australian dollar, known for its sensitivity to risk, showed a notable increase of 0.4%, reaching its highest point against the US dollar since October 2024. Additionally, it reached a new peak against the yen, a level unseen since July 2024.

These movements in currency values indicate a stable trading environment in Asia, with the yen maintaining a steady course against most major peers. Despite these fluctuations, the yen held firm at 184.83 against the euro, suggesting a balance in currency exchange dynamics in the region.
