Silwan: Israeli authorities on Tuesday forced two Palestinian brothers to demolish their own homes in the town of Silwan, south of Al Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Jerusalem Governorate stated that the brothers, Nader and Hatem Baydoun, were compelled to carry out the demolitions in the Al Bustan neighbourhood. The demolitions were enforced under the pretext that the homes lacked building permits issued by the Israeli occupation municipality.
The two homes, which together covered an area of approximately 88 square meters, were home to 10 people. The forced demolitions highlight ongoing tensions and challenges faced by Palestinians in the occupied territories.
