MSX 30 Index Falls as Trading Activity Increases

Muscat: The Muscat Stock Exchange "MSX 30" index closed at 7,489.17 points, marking a decrease of 93.1 points, or 1.23 percent, from the previous session's close of 7,582.24 points.

According to Oman News Agency, the trading value saw a rise to RO 33.38 million, which is an increase of 17.7 percent compared to RO 28.36 million recorded in the prior session. Despite the increased trading activity, the market capitalisation experienced a decline of 0.489 percent, settling at approximately RO 36.52 billion.

Non-Omani investors were active in the market, with purchases amounting to RO 2.54 million, making up 7.62 percent of the total trading value. However, their sales reached RO 3.15 million, which constitutes 9.46 percent of the total. As a result, the net non-Omani investment decreased by RO 0.61 million, or 1.83 percent.
