European Stocks Little Changed Amid Hormuz Uncertainty

Muscat: European stocks were little changed today, amid continued uncertainty over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, as investors looked ahead to a busy week of economic data. The pan-European STOXX 600 index held steady at 660.12 points. The benchmark rose 1.7 percent last week and closed at a record high on Friday.

According to Oman News Agency, Europe's energy sector experienced a rise of 0.5 percent, with Brent crude futures increasing by 0.6 percent to USD 83.98 a barrel. The technology sector led the gains, climbing by 0.7 percent. Conversely, media stocks saw a decline of 0.7 percent. Shares of Caledonia Mining increased by 1.6 percent following the company's announcement of a 16 percent rise in its second-quarter profit.
