Salalah: The Wilayat of Salalah, Governorate of Dhofar, will host the second edition of the Dhofar International Film Festival from 6 to 9 September 2026. Organized by Oman Film Society (OFS), the festival reflects an ongoing strategic partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and Dhofar Municipality.
According to Oman News Agency, the forthcoming edition of the festival will feature 32 films from 16 countries: Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Libya, Iran, South Korea, England, Spain, Russia, and Portugal. The Dhofar International Film Festival aims to enhance the presence of the Sultanate of Oman in the Arab and international arena, support the film industry, and promote national talents.
The second edition of the festival will include the felicitation of artistic and media personalities from Oman and the Arab world. Notable figures such as Haya Abdul Salam from Kuwait and Bushra Ahmed Razza from Egypt will be honored, along with Omani artistic and media persons Hilal bin Abdullah Al Araimi, Abdullah Al Sabbah, Salah bin Suleiman Beit Obaid, and Salim Al Amri.
