Asyad Drydock Achieves Record Growth with 130 Projects and 56 New Clients

Duqm:Asyad Drydock, part of the Asyad Group, has completed 130 projects in the first eight months of 2026, drawing in 56 new international clients. This expansion has increased its client base to approximately 900 commercial clients globally.

According to Oman News Agency, the company‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¾¢s growth underscores Duqm's rising status as a significant hub for marine services and industries in Oman. The drydock's infrastructure and specialized facilities have played a key role in servicing vessels and international fleets, integrating with the ecosystem of ports, services, and industries in Duqm's Special Economic Zone.

Ahmed Ali Al Balushi, CEO of Asyad Drydock, reported that the completed projects included 119 vessel repairs and maintenance projects along with 11 industrial projects. Notably, about 40% of the new clients are from Middle Eastern and Far Eastern markets.

He also highlighted a new record in dual berthing operations, with 10 simultaneous maintenance operations by berthing two vessels side by side. This achievement has improved berth utilization efficiency and increased the capacity for concurrent project execution. Additionally, the company set a record by conducting maintenance and repairs on 27 vessels simultaneously, showcasing their technical and operational prowess.

The floating dock has significantly enhanced the drydock's capabilities, with maintenance work on 13 vessels by August 2026, compared to only two in the same period in 2025. The company is also advancing in shipbuilding, currently working on two new projects following the successful completion and delivery of three projects to local and Gulf clients in previous years.

Al Balushi emphasized that Asyad Drydock's growth not only expands its operations but also boosts local content and the national business ecosystem. Contracts and purchase orders worth RO 6.5 million were awarded to small and medium enterprises, and RO 12.5 million to local companies, representing 81% of the total value of contracts awarded during this period.

These developments are contributing to the stimulation of local supply chains, expanding business opportunities for national companies, and enhancing the Omani private sector's role in marine services and industries. This progress consolidates Duqm's position as a comprehensive marine business hub and strengthens its economic contribution.
