GCC Chambers Focus on Enhancing Intra-Regional Trade

Manama:The Board of Directors of the Federation of GCC Chambers (FGCCC) convened its 69th meeting in Manama, Bahrain, to discuss the private sector's role in boosting trade among GCC countries.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, who is also the Chairman of the Qatar Chamber. Representing the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), Rashid bin Amer Al Maslahi, First Deputy Chairman of the OCCI Board of Directors, led the Omani delegation.

The discussions centered on enhancing economic and commercial cooperation, developing intra-GCC trade, and achieving economic integration within the GCC. The FGCCC Board reviewed progress reports on implementing previous decisions and made resolutions to support joint investment and real estate projects to increase financial returns and apply suitable policies.

Additionally, the board examined administrative and financial reports, future plans, and draft annual budgets. The meeting stressed the importance of strategic approaches to joint events, discussed proposals to improve collaboration, and incorporated initiatives to protect the interests of the Gulf business sector. Coordination for upcoming events and meetings with the GCC Secretariat General was also addressed.
