Muscat:Oman Duty Free has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Duty Free International (CDFI) to strengthen collaboration in the duty-free markets and trade retail sectors. The signing ceremony was held during the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the People's Republic of China.
According to Oman News Agency, the MoU was signed by Sayyid Nasr bin Badr Al Busaidi, CEO of Oman Duty Free, and Dou Xiaoqiong, Managing Manager of China Duty Free International.
The agreement aims to enhance Oman Duty Free's business operations, attract leading global brands to the Sultanate of Oman, and support the company's international expansion. This will be achieved by exchanging expertise in store operations and product management, as well as cooperating in supply chains and franchising within travel retail outlets.
The increasing investment interest from China Tourism Group, the parent company of China Duty Free International, in the Sultanate of Oman is expected to bolster and develop Oman's tourism sector. Planned partnerships in the travel, hospitality, and retail sectors are set to position Oman as an attractive destination, potentially increasing the influx of Chinese tourists.
