MP Jihad al-Samad received a call this afternoon from Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, urging him to “exert all efforts to prevent strife and protect civil peace after the painful incident that took place in the vicinity of Qorner al-Sawda that claimed the lives of two young men from the region of Bsharre, Haitham and Malik Tawk.’

Berri also underlined the need “not to be drawn into rumors aimed at incitement and destabilization.”

Al-Samad, in turn, thanked Berri for his call, and assured him of “the keenness of the people of Dinnieh on maintaining stability and civil peace, and on preserving the historical good-neighborly relations that link the peoples of Dinnieh and Bsharre together.”
