Arab leaders at the Summit reiterate their support for the Palestinian cause

ALGIERS, Arab leaders speaking at the Arab Summit currently underway in the Algerian capital reiterated their support for the Palestinian struggle for liberation and independence.

Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Sisi said the Arab Peace Initiative will remain the common vision for a just and comprehensive solution on the basis of two states and the principle of land for peace that would lead to the establishment of the independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital that would bring the Palestinians to their homeland and allow the return of the refugees.

The Iraqi president, Abdul Latif Rashid, said that the plight of the Palestinian people remains at the forefront of the Arab problems, and Iraq’s position continues to uphold the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish their state on all the Palestinian territories, with Jerusalem as its capital.

Jordan’s Crown Prince al-Hussein bin Abdullah said that a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative and United Nations resolutions remain the strategic choice to ensure the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and a viable Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He stressed the need to intensify efforts with the relevant international parties to resume the peace process and support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land.

Deputy Amir of Kuwait and Crown Prince Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah stressed the need to guarantee the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Younis al-Manfi, affirmed his country’s firm position towards the Palestinian issue, stressing his rejection of any permanent or interim solution that does not recognize the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their own independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Initiative and United Nations resolutions.

The Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, reiterated his country’s firm position on the Palestinian issue, calling for an end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution, UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the June 4, 1967 borders.
