Beijing, MP Abdulnabi Salman Ahmed, First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, delivered a speech while leading the Bahraini parliamentary delegation at the 2024 Interregional Seminar on Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Parliaments of Developing Countries, held in China. In his speech, the Deputy Speaker highlighted Bahrain's efforts to strengthen regional and international cooperation, with the aim of consolidating peace, enhancing global stability, and advancing the SDGs. He underscored Bahrain's commitment to constructive collaboration in finding peaceful and diplomatic solutions to various matters, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. MP Abdulnabi Salman also commended the initiatives of HM the King, including the establishment of the King Hamad Award for Peaceful Coexistence, the inauguration of the King Hamad Chair in Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence at Sapienza University in Italy, and the launch of the Cyber Peace P rogramme of the King Hamad Centre for Peaceful Coexistence in New York City, during the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He emphasised that the Council of Representatives, in collaboration with the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, maintain commitment to advancing national achievements. This includes the ratification and implementation of global agreements and treaties aimed at bolstering international security, stability, and peace, as well as the activation of parliamentary diplomacy to promote tolerance, coexistence, and peace within the global community. During the seminar, Dr. Hani Al Saati, Member of the Shura Council, underscored Bahrain's role as an example of coexistence and openness, highlighting its exemplary model of peace and harmony among different religions and communities. He noted the Kingdom's efforts in upholding the values of cultural and intellectual diversity, countering extremism and into lerance with principles of justice and equality, under the leadership of HM the King. Dr. Al Saati also emphasised the efforts of Bahrain's legislative institutions in ratifying laws that foster respect for cultural diversity and contribute to building more inclusive societies.
