Children Cultural Centre Expands Digital Initiatives to Engage Young Minds

Muscat: The Children Cultural Centre, affiliated with the Directorate General of Knowledge and Cultural Development at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, is advancing its efforts to promote digital projects tailored for children. This initiative is part of a broader vision to foster digital literacy and nurture creative and interactive learning experiences for the younger generation.

According to Oman News Agency, the Centre's strategy emphasizes the integration of cultural and educational programs with contemporary needs, thus paving the way for children to gain future-ready skills. By engaging with technology through innovative digital content, the initiative aims to merge entertainment with knowledge, empowering children to interact positively with digital platforms.

In 2024, the Centre reported 35,603 beneficiaries from its events and activities. This number increased to 39,383 from January to July of the current year. Salwa Saif Al Rashdi, Director of the Children Cultural Centre, emphasized that the projects aim to establish a lasting cognitive connection between children and their cultural heritage. This is achieved by transforming Omani heritage into a dynamic, interactive experience.

The initiative further supports the national digital transformation agenda by incorporating projects like the 'Interactive Camel Race Experience', which uses virtual reality to simulate camel racing, reflecting Omani sporting traditions in a safe, engaging manner. Additionally, the 'Smart Child Cultural Centre' project leverages artificial intelligence, data analysis, and remote-control technologies to create an eco-friendly model of innovation.

Previously, the Centre has undertaken projects such as 'Displaying an Ancient Omani Manuscript' by Omani physician Rashid bin Umaira and 'Folk Arts'. It also plans to unveil more digital projects later this year, continuing its mission to invest in childhood as a foundation for a knowledge and technology-driven future.
