China’s Foreign Exchange Reserves Climb $31.7 Billion to $3.44 Trillion

Beijing: China's foreign exchange reserves rose to $3.4422 trillion at the end of May 2026, an increase of $31.7 billion, or 0.93 percent, from the April level, official data showed.

According to Oman News Agency, the rise came as the US dollar index was influenced by global macroeconomic developments and monetary policy expectations in major economies, alongside a general increase in global financial asset prices, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange said, citing Xinhua News Agency.

Currency conversion and asset price changes together contributed to the increase in reserves during May, the administration added.

China's economy continues to maintain stable growth momentum and is making progress in high-quality development, providing support for the overall stability of its foreign exchange reserves.
