Ramallah – Ma’an – The Central Bureau of Statistics announced a decrease in merchandise exports and imports observed during last February, compared to the same month in 2023.
The statistics said in a report issued today, Tuesday, that merchandise exports decreased by 12% during the month of February 2024 compared to the month of February 2023, reaching a value of 120.4 million US dollars.
He pointed out that exports to Israel decreased during the month of February of 2024 by 16% compared to the month of February of 2023, and exports to Israel constituted 82% of the total value of exports for the month of February of 2024, while exports to the rest of the world increased by 21%. Compared to February 2023.
As for merchandise imports, imports decreased during the month of February of 2024 by 24% compared to the month of February of 2023, and their value reached 480.9 million US dollars.
Imports from Israel decreased during February 2024 by 22% compared to February 2023. Imports from Israel constituted 61% of
the total value of imports for February 2024. Imports from the rest of the world also decreased by 27% compared to February 2024. February of 2023.
As for the trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, it recorded a decrease in the value of the deficit by 27% during the month of February of 2024 compared to the month of February of 2023, and the value of the deficit reached 360.5 million US dollars.
