JERUSALEM, Several Palestinian-owned homes and structures in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Isawiyya today received demolition notices from the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem, according to a local activist.
Mohammad Abu al-Humus, an activist from Isawiyya, said municipality staff and police broke into the neighborhood and handed the demolition orders against homes and structures that were still in the construction stage and summoned some residents to the municipality for questioning.
He said the forces also erased nationalist graffiti painted on the walls in the neighborhood.
