Education Minister opens 4th National Bookshop fair

Minister of Education Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma opened today the fourth book fair organized by the National Bookshop at the hall of the Ministry of Education in Isa Town.

The event was attended by former Speaker of the Council of Representatives Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, owner of the National Bookshop Farooq Ibrahim Obaid and other officials and invitees.

The minister toured the stalls of the fair which showcased around 2000 books in humanities, child literature, literature, religions, sciences and general culture.

He stressed the ministry’s commitment to building bridges with all institutions to spread knowledge and encourage reading, commending the role of National Bookshop since its establishment by late Ibrahim Mohammed Obaid in 1929.

The book fair which opened today to the public will continue until Thursday (April 6), from 9 am until 12.00 noon and from 8 pm until 11 pm. Public and private schools will also organise daily visits to the book fair.
