North a'sharqiyah: Tasks of a three-day forum on the governance of employment in privately-owned businesses kicked off today in the Wilayat of Bidiya, North A'Sharqiyah Governorate, under the theme 'The camel sector as a model'. The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Mahad bin Said Ba'Owain, Minister of Labour. According to Oman News Agency, the forum is organized by the Ministry of Labour's General Directorate in North A'Sharqiyah Governorate. It constitutes part of national efforts aimed at developing the Omani labour market and enhancing the efficiency of economic and social sectors. It also seeks to regulate the employment climate in these sectors in line with the approaches Oman Vision 2040. Working papers in the forum focus on challenges posed to economic and social sectors, statistical aspects of the camel sector in North A'Sharqiyah Governorate and the importance of empowering Omani youth to engage in privately-owned businesses, in addition to providing sustainable economic opportun ities for interested members of the public through training and support for entrepreneurship. The forum also includes dialogue sessions, workshops and visual presentations by personnel of governmental and private establishments, researchers and those interested in the development of economic and social sectors. The tasks of the forum deal with means of providing a stable working environment, outlining regulations and institutional initiatives to empower stakeholders and enhancing the role of stakeholders in building integrated production and service chains that contribute to food security, economic growth and the diversification of sources of national income.
