February trade balance was down by 4% in February as exports decreased by 7%, imports by 5% – PCBS

RAMALLAH, Monday, April 25, 2022 (WAFA) – The trade balance in Palestine decreased by 4% in February compared to January as a result of a decrease of 7% in exports and 5% in imports, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

When compared to the same month a year ago, the trade balance increased by 33% and reached $466.6 million as exports increased by 24% and reached $123.7 million, while imports increased by 31% and reached $590.3 million.

Exports to Israel decreased in February by 7% compared to January, which represented 86% of total exports in February, said the PCBS. Exports to other countries decreased by 9%.

Imports from Israel increased by 5% in February compared to January and it represented 56% of total imports in February, while imports from other countries decreased by 15%, said the PCBS.
