FM Malki discusses with French diplomat President Abbas’ upcoming visit to Paris

RAMALLAH, Friday, July 8, 2022 (WAFA) – Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Riyad al-Malki Thursday discussed a French diplomat President Mahmoud Abbas’ upcoming visit to France.

Foreign Minister al-Malki had a meeting with Head of the French Foreign Ministry’s Middle East and North Africa Section, Anne Guéguen, in Ramallah during which they discussed President Abbas’ upcoming visit to Paris.

Al-Malki briefed Guéguen on the latest political developments on the Palestinian arena and Israel’s incessant violations against the Palestinian people while stressing the importance of continued political dialogue and coordination at the highest levels between the two sides.

He expressed Palestine’s appreciation to France for its positions in support of the Palestinian question, including financial contributions to the United Nations agency responsible for Palestine refugees (UNRWA).

Guéguen voiced her country’s position in opposition of any unilateral action that could exacerbate tensions while reaffirming France’s long-standing position that the two-state solution is the only way conducive to a just and permanent settlement to the “conflict” in line with the international law and internationally agreed-upon parameters.
