Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a telephone call from Rt Hon David Lammy, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom. During the call, the minister congratulated the secretary of state on assuming his new duties and wished him continued success. Dr. Al Zayani said he was keen on meeting with the secretary to further discuss enhancing the longstanding relations between the two countries. The two sides highlighted the historic Bahrain-UK cooperation, within the framework of the strategic dialogue. They also emphasised means to further enhance cooperation. The two sides emphasised the ongoing Arab and international efforts to achieve a ceasefire, protect civilians in accordance with international law, facilitate humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, secure the release of hostages and detainees, and mitigate tensions to uphold regional security and stability. They also discussed the revival of the peace process to reach a political solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution. Source: Bahrain News Agency
