Geneva: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, met in Geneva today with Dr. Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The meeting focused on discussing preparations for the second round of Iran-U.S. talks, scheduled to be held indirectly tomorrow, Tuesday, in Geneva. According to Oman News Agency, during the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of working to tip the scales towards understanding and consensus, in a way that ensures reaching an agreement that meets the goals and aspirations of the parties to these talks. Sayyid Badr affirmed the Sultanate of Oman's steadfast approach in supporting avenues of dialogue and diplomacy, and its keenness to continue contributing to efforts supporting security, peace, and stability. This, he noted, aims to spare the region and its peoples the scourge of wars and conflicts. He expressed his high appreciation for the confidence the parties place in Omani mediation in this regard, a responsibility that the Sultan ate of Oman takes with utmost seriousness and attention. The meeting was attended by a number of officials from both sides.
