Foreign ministry calls on international community to pressure Netanyahu to stop implementation of pledges he made to his coalition partners

RAMALLAH, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates today called on the international community to act swiftly and pressure Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu to stop the implementation of the pledges he promised his coalition partners in order to protect the two-state solution.

The ministry, in a statement, called on the international community to work towards translating its stances and international resolutions against settlements into action and to take practical and deterrent measures to curb the extremist right-wing’s bullying against the Palestinian people.

It called for linking the international stance on the violations and crimes of the Israeli occupation and its settlers with a series of deterrent sanctions.

The ministry held Netanyahu personally and directly responsible for the repercussions caused by the implementation of the pledges he gave to his coalition partners at the expense of the just and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

It slammed Netanyahu’s pledges to his partners as a flagrant violation of all red lines, a cancelation of the borders between Israel and the territory it occupied in 1967, and a disregard to international law and legitimacy and all signed agreements.
