Foreign Ministry calls on international community, US to pressure Israel to stop settlers’ terrorism

RAMALLAH, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on the international community and the US administration to pressure the occupying power, Israel, to stop the settlers’ terrorism, attacks, and crimes committed against the defenseless Palestinians, their towns and villages.

The ministry in a statement called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations to promptly activate the international protection system for the Palestinian civilians under Israeli occupation.

The ministry stressed that it views with grave concern the escalation of the systematic attacks by settlers that took place today against Palestinian towns and villages, especially in Nablus’ villages of Qaryut and Burqa, as well as in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem and others, which left dozens of injuries, including many serious injuries.

The ministry held the Israeli government headed by Prime minister Naftali Bennett fully and directly responsible for the settler violence and terror and its dangerous consequences and repercussions on the situation in the region.
