PARIS, French ministry of foreign affairs spokeswoman, Anne-Claire Legendre condemned and expressed deep shock over the killing of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh by Israeli forces.

She stressed that France demands a transparent investigation into Abu Akleh’s killing as soon as possible.

She reaffirmed France’s firm and consistent commitment to freedom of the press and the protection of journalists and all those whose expression contributes to the transmission of free information and the rekindling of public debate around the world.
