GCC countries renew support to Sudan

Geneva, The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Geneva participated in the 32nd Special Session of the Human Rights Council, which was held today to discuss the current situation in the Republic of Sudan. Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office in Geneva and Chairman of the Council of Ambassadors of the GCC countries, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Yusuf AbdulKarim Bucheeri, delivered a statement on behalf of the GCC countries, in which he affirmed their firm stances towards the Republic of Sudan, and continuous support for everything that contributes to strengthening its security, stability and unity.

His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Yusuf AbdulKarim Bucheeri also said that the GCC countries are following up on developments in Sudan, and they call on all Sudanese parties to avoid escalation and give priority to the higher interest of the country to overcome this crisis. He added that the GCC member states call on the Sudanese parties to take positions that would enhance dialogue between all Sudanese components and ensure respect for human rights.

His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Yusuf AbdulKarim Bucheeri affirmed that the GCC countries are aware of the difficulty of the transitional phase that Sudan is going through but are fully confident that the country will reach stability and prosperity. Speaking on behalf of the GCC countries, he renewed the call for the international community, within the framework of the Human Rights Council, to take positions that support unity among all Sudanese components, contribute to calming the situation and restore stability.
