Riyadh, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with a delegation from the Iraqi parliament, headed by Shaikh Shaalan Abdul Jabbar Ali Al Karim, and the membership of Karim Alaiwi, Jahoush Hasanein Al Khafaji, and Dr. Yaseen Al Aythawi. The secretary general emphasised the strong GCC-Iraqi relations and the keenness to enhance cooperation. During the meeting, he emphasised the importance of maintaining Iraq's stability, safeguarding the integrity and unity of its territory, ensuring its complete sovereignty, preserving its Arab identity, protecting its social fabric, and upholding its national unity. Albudaiwi highlighted the statement issued by the Ministerial Council in its 160th session on the constant positions and decisions of the council's states towards Iraq, and support for all ongoing efforts to achieve security and stability in Iraq.
