Manama, Jaleela bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, the Minister of Health, met with Dr. Pasi Penttinen, the Executive Director of Gulf the Gulf Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), and the accompanying delegation. The minister underscored the importance of the role played by Gulf CDC in keeping pace with all developments related to the spread and prevention of chronic and communicable diseases. She commended the continuous efforts and follow-up carried out by the Gulf CDC in coordination with all health sectors in the GCC in the field of developing health emergency preparedness and response systems, in addition to exchanging expertise , information and best practices in public health, capacity-building and evaluating and developing joint monitoring systems. Dr Penttinen thanked the Minister and the Health Ministry for their continuous cooperation with the Gulf CDC.
