GCC Secretary General strongly condemns the burning of the Holy Quran

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in the Danish capital Copenhagen.

The secretary general said that this heinous incident is an act of incitement that is disrespectful and offensive to Muslims around the world, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

He affirmed the GCC’s position to spread values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence between religions and to reject hatred and extremism.

The secretary general stressed that the international community and the governments of the concerned countries, to uphold the responsibilities of intervention and swift action to stop abuses of Islamic symbols and Muslims.
