Manama: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Bahrain Royal Medical University to advance higher education and scholarships in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The agreement was formalized by Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, and Professor Sameer Al Atoum, President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Bahrain Royal Medical University.
According to Oman News Agency, the agreement is a testament to the strong relationship between the Ministry and the college, aimed at enhancing cooperation in higher education. Under the terms of the agreement, the ministry will dispatch students to enroll in the Medical Commencement Programme (MCP) or the Bachelor of Medicine program. Annually, the ministry will provide the college with a list of selected students at the start of each academic year.
The agreement stipulates an annual provision of ten scholarship seats for students sponsored
by the ministry, subject to the availability of qualified applicants. Notably, the college will waive tuition fees for two of these seats. Admission to the program will be contingent on students’ competitive GPA and fulfillment of all standard admission criteria as outlined in the college’s admission and registration regulations, ensuring their eligibility for consideration.
