Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued two Royal decrees today, marking significant developments in governance and international relations.
According to Oman News Agency, the first decree, Royal Decree No. 52/2025, involves the cancellation of the "Oman Centre for Governance and Sustainability". The decree outlines the transfer of all allocations, origins, rights, obligations, and assets of the center to the Financial Services Authority. Additionally, employees from the center will be moved to the Financial Services Authority, maintaining their current financial grades. The decree further nullifies any conflicting provisions and is effective immediately upon publication in the Official Gazette.
The second decree, Royal Decree No. 53/2025, ratifies an agreement with the Russian Federation on mutual visa waivers, which was signed in Moscow on 22 April 2025. This agreement is intended to facilitate easier travel between the two nations and is also effective immediately upon its publication in the Official Gazette.
