Muscat:The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) welcomed a delegation of Indonesian health sector companies to discuss potential cooperation and investment in medical tourism.
According to Oman News Agency, the delegation focused on opportunities that would enhance the medical tourism industry and promote related services and industries. Areas of potential collaboration include specialized medical services, preventive and genetic medicine, medical research, and the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. The establishment of wellness and hospitalization centers was also discussed.
The meeting also considered the development of integrated systems supporting medical tourism, such as diagnosis and treatment, insurance, and associated travel and hospitality services. The discussion highlighted the importance of leveraging the advanced technologies available in health institutions across both countries.
Participants acknowledged the strategic advantages of Oman's location, which serves as a hub along regional and international routes, and its access to markets within the GCC states and Arab and African countries.
