Muscat: Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al Harrasi, the Minister of Information, held a significant meeting today with Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, the Director General of the GCC Joint Programme Production Institution (GCCJPPI), who is currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman. The discussions centered on enhancing collaboration in the development of media programs that address issues of mutual interest among GCC states. According to Oman News Agency, the meeting was attended by Mohammed Said Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, along with other officials from the ministry. The meeting highlighted the importance of fostering cooperative media initiatives that can effectively address the shared challenges and interests of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. During his visit, Sheikh Mubarak Al Sabah toured several key facilities, including the Oman News Agency (ONA), the News Centre, the Digital Studios Complex, and the Directorate General of Electronic Media. These tou rs provided him with insights into the advanced technical capabilities and innovative programs of the Omani Ministry of Information. Al Sabah received a detailed briefing on the diverse news content offered by the ministry's departments. He was particularly impressed by the advanced technological infrastructure and the various programs that have been developed to meet the evolving demands of modern media. The briefing also covered the 'Ayn' platform and the extensive collection of visual and audio materials produced over the years by the Ministry of Information, through Radio Sultanate of Oman and Oman TV, emphasizing their role in enhancing the media message across the region.
