Muscat: The "Sahhil Hayatahum" (Ease Their Lives) initiative, overseen by the Ihsan Association branch in South Al Batinah Governorate, has been actively engaged in its humanitarian mission aimed at supporting the elderly and individuals with disabilities. Spanning the decade from 2015 to 2025, the initiative has concentrated on supplying and distributing prosthetic and assistive medical devices to improve the lives of its beneficiaries.
According to Oman News Agency, the initiative has successfully reached 2,251 beneficiaries across various wilayats in South Al Batinah, comprising 1,135 females and 1,116 males. Throughout this period, a total of 3,319 medical devices were distributed to cater to diverse health and rehabilitation needs.
The distribution of mobility and movement aids was a significant focus, with 760 wheelchairs, 700 medical beds, 140 walkers, 35 electric wheelchairs, and 30 crutches provided. The initiative also prioritized respiratory support, distributing 200 oxygen cylinders, 150 oxygen concentrators, and 106 phlegm suction units, alongside CPAP and nebulizer machines. For home care and daily living, 315 air mattresses and 300 toilet chairs were supplied, as well as shower chairs and commodes. Furthermore, diagnostic and hearing aids were made available, including 120 glucose monitors, 100 blood pressure monitors, 93 pulse oximeters, and 40 hearing aids.
