During an exceptional meeting on Thursday of the Central Internal Security Council, Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam Mawlawi, emphasized the need for "a message of unity and cohesion to support security forces." 'Security agencies are ready, present, and fully performing their duties,' affirmed Mawlawi. Moreover, the Interior Minister addressed concerns about the security presence in the capital. "For those claiming that security forces are absent in Beirut, we assure you that security forces are present and have been reinforced. However, managing the additional influx of displaced persons is not an easy task,' Mawlawi explained. The Interior Minister also pointed out recent attempts to erect tents and build concrete structures along Beirut's seaside Corniche, stressing that such actions are unacceptable. He then underscored the need for larger shelters in the capital. Mawlawi further reiterated that "public property represents the state's image, and we will not tolerate any viol ations of it, nor will we allow encroachments on private property. Security forces will carry out their duties as required." Source: National News Agency - Lebanon
