Israel demolishes water reservoir south of Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, The Israeli occupation authorities today demolished a water reservoir in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, according to a local source.

Ahmad Salah, a local activist, said that Israeli forces escorted a bulldozer into Wadi al-Shami area of the town, where the heavy machinery tore down the water reservoir purportedly for being built without a permit.

Located 4 kilometers to the west of Bethlehem city, al-Khader has a population of some 12,500.

With the scarcity of water available for Palestinians since Israel controls all water resources in the occupied West Bank, residents build reservoirs to collect rainwater for various irrigation purposes.
