Israel locks down entrance to Sebastia in northern West Bank

NABLUS, Israeli occupation forces today shut down the main entrance to the village of Sebastia in the northern West Bank province of Nablus, according to local sources.

Mohammad Azem, mayor of Sebastia, told WAFA that the Israeli occupation army installed cement cubes at the entrance to the village, blocking access in and out of the village through its main entrance.

Closures of sections of the Nablus-Jenin road were imposed by the Israeli occupation forces over the past three days in the aftermath of the murder of an Israeli settler and the injury of another two outside Homesh outpost, a pre-2005 Israeli settlement, about a few kilometers to the north of Sebastia.

Palestinian commuters were forced to use longer alternative routes as a result of the Israeli closures.
