Israel reneges on a prisoner’s agreement, issues administrative detention order against him

RAMALLAH, The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said that the occupation authorities reneged on an agreement regarding the administrative detainee, Adal Mousa, who went on a hunger strike that lasted 37 days in protest against his administrative detention, and suspended it after an agreement was reached on September 12 for ending his detention.

The PPS said in a statement today that instead of ending his administrative detention as agreed, the occupation authorities issued a new administrative detention order against him for a period of three months, adding that he was scheduled to be released today.

It is noteworthy that the occupation forces detained Adal Mousa and his brother Ahmad on August 7 before slamming them with administrative detention.

Adal Mousa is a former prisoner who spent about seven years in Israeli prisons, five of which were in a row. He is married and a father of two children. He serves now in the Israeli Ofer prison.

The PPS indicated that what happened with prisoners Adal Mousa and Raed Rayan, another administrative detainee who was promised to be released but Israel reneged on its promise which prompted him to also end his hunger strike, confirms that Israel does not keep its word or agreement when it comes to prisoners.

The statement said that the number of administrative detainees in Israeli jails reached more than 820 detainees.
