Israel turns over to their families corpses of two Palestinians out of 116 it has been holding for months

RAMALLAH, The Israeli authorities today turned over to the Palestinian side the corpses of two Palestinians killed by its forces for more than two years and whose bodies have been held since then, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Red Crescent.

They said that they received the corpses of Ashraf Halaseh, 30, from al-Sawahreh, southeast of occupied East Jerusalem, who was shot dead by Israeli police near Bab Hutta in Jerusalem’s Old City in August 2020, and Mohammad Amro, 36, from the town of Halhoul, north of Hebron, who was killed by Israeli soldiers near Etzion settlements in February 2021.

The bodies were turned over to their families for proper burial.

The Israeli authorities still hold the corpses of 114 Palestinians killed by its forces since 2015, including 12 minors and 11 prisoners who died while in prison. They are also holding the corpses of 256 Palestinian freedom fighters killed by its forces since the 1967 occupation in what is known as the “numbers cemetery” in northern Israel.
