Israeli forces today detained at least five Palestinians and shot six others in West Bank raids, according to local and security sources.

They confirmed that undercover Israeli forces, known as Musta’ribeen, sneaked their way into Jabal Abu Dhheir and al-Jabariyyaat neighborhoods and the Jenin-Nablus Road in Jenin city, where they abducted three Palestinians, including two brothers, and seized their mobile phones.

Confrontations subsequently erupted when Israeli forces in military uniforms raided the neighborhoods and opened fire towards local teens and property.

Six Palestinians were wounded by live ammunition in the feet, hands and chest, including a girl who was wounded by a bullet in her feet while inside her family house.

The soldiers opened intensive fire towards the Palestinian Civil Defence (PCD) premises in Nablus Road, causing damage to four PCD vehicles.

Israeli military fire also hit an electrical transformer, causing a power outage for several hours.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces rounded up another after breaking into and ransacking his house in Hebron city.

Another Palestinian was detained after being stopped at a military checkpoint in the vicinity of the Gush Etzion colonial settlement bloc.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
