Israeli forces storm, prevent restoration of mosque south of Jenin

Israeli forces today stormed and prevented the restoration of a mosque near Jaba‘ town, south of Jenin, according to local sources.

Razi Ghannam, a Fatah activist, said that a sizable Israeli military force deployed on Jenin-Nablus Road and barged their way to Tarsala site near the town, where Palestinians were carrying out restoration works for a mosque.

He added that the soldiers opened fire towards Palestinians as a means to disperse them and prevent the restoration works.

He pointed that the rehabilitation of the mosque was part of wider efforts aimed at safeguarding the site against daily military raids and settlers’ attempts to seize it.
