Israeli forces suppress anti-settlement rally west of Salfit

SALFIT, Israeli occupation forces today suppressed a peaceful anti-settlement rally in the town of Bruqin to the west of Salfit, according to the town’s mayor, Fa’ed Sabra.

He told WAFA that the municipality of Bruqin organized the rally in protest against Israel’s appropriation of the town’s land for the benefit of settlement expansion and against settlers’ repeated attacks against farmers.

He said that Israeli forces attacked participants in the rally with tear gas canisters and stun grenades as they set off toward the lands threatened with seizure in the said town.

It should be noted that Israeli forces and settlers last Friday placed barbed wires and planted trees in the western part of the town.
