Israeli forces violently attack rally marking 17th anniversary of Yasser Arafat’s death

RAMALLAH, Israeli occupation forces attacked today evening a rally marking the 17th-anniversary of the death of late president Yasser Arafat at the northern entrance to al-Bireh city.

Israeli forces fired rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters at the rally, shooting and injuring at least 14 people, including an injury to the chest which necessitated its transfer to the hospital.

Dozens of others were treated at the scene from tear-gas suffocation.

Forces reportedly surrounded the rally, set up several ambushes for Palestinians, and detained two people.
