Israeli military issues demolition, stop work orders against houses in Masafer Yatta

HEBRON, The Israeli military government today issued an order to demolish a house and stop construction orders against two other houses in Masafer Yatta in the South Hebron Hills.

Fouad al-Imour, an activist, told WAFA that soldiers broke into al-Towana community and ordered a local resident to demolish his 70-square-meter house where he and his family of eight members live.

The soldiers also ordered the removal of the electricity network that provides power to several households in al-Towana.

In nearby Shaab al-Battam, two local residents were ordered to stop work on the construction of their houses claiming they were being built without a permit.

Earlier, the Israeli military sabotaged the water network that provides water to several communities in Masafer Yatta.

Israel is trying to force more than 1000 residents of Masafer Yatta out of their homes and lands after the Israeli High Court gave the army on May 4 the greenlight to force the Palestinians out of their homes and to demolish eight of their communities by claiming the area as a firing zone.
