Israeli occupation forces demolish agricultural facilities in the south of West Bank town

The Israeli occupation forces today demolished a number of agricultural facilities in Tarqumiya town, northwest of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

A member of the Land Defense Committee in Tarqumiya, Suleiman Jaafra, told WAFA that the occupation forces demolished 11 pergolas used for agricultural purposes and a park during the summer owned by several local families.

Several weeks ago, the occupation authorities handed notices to a number of residents to evacuate their lands planted with olive trees and grapes in Tarqumiya, whose area is estimated at more than 600 dunums under the pretext it is “state land.”

Jaafra said the landowners affirmed that they have proof of ownership of their lands, stressing that the goal of the occupation is to seize these lands to expand settlements in the area and link the illegal settlements of Telem and Adora.
