Israeli police assault Fatah activists after visiting freed freedom fighter Maher Younis

JERUSALEM, Israeli police assaulted today activists affiliated with Fatah movement while on their way back home after visiting Karim Younis, a Palestinian freedom fighter who was released yesterday after serving 40 years in Israeli prisons.

Witnesses said Israeli police officers stopped a bus carrying a Fatah delegation on its way back to Jerusalem after visiting Younis in his hometown of Ar’ara, in 1948-occupied Palestine. The police reportedly assaulted four activists on board the bus and briefly detained 25 others.
