Israeli settlers attack Palestinians in Nablus-area village

NABLUS, Israeli settlers attacked tonight a number of Palestinians in the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus, according to a local activist.

Ghassan Daghlas, in charge of the settlement file in the northern West Bank, told WAFA that several settlers, under the protection of the Israeli army, physically assaulted a number of Palestinian residents while they were present near a water spring to the southeast of the village.

Israeli soldiers reportedly fired tear gas cansiters and stun grenades at the residents. However, no injuries were reported.

Israeli settler violence against Palestinians and their property is commonplace in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
