Israeli settlers’ blitz on the olive season continues with the uprooting of more than 300 trees in a village near Ramallah

RAMALLAH,–Israeli settlers continued today their daily attack on the olive season in Palestine with the uprooting of more than 300 olive trees in the village of al-Mazraa al-Garbieh, the north of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.

Saade Zaqqout, head of al-Mazraa village council, told WAFA that the farmers discovered the destruction of more than 300 of their olive trees when they arrived at their lands located near the illegal Israeli settlement of Kerem Reim.

He noted that the Israeli settlers and forces often prevent the Palestinian farmers from accessing their lands in that area, especially after installing an iron gate and setting up cement blocks on the road leading to it.

The Palestinian government has called for international intervention and protection to stop the settlers’ onslaught on the olive harvest, a main source of income for Palestinians in the occupied territories.
