Israeli settlers chop down 120 olive trees near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, Israeli settlers Wednesday uprooted 120 olive trees from Palestinian-owned lands in the village of Turmus Ayya, northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, local sources said.

Local resident Awad Abu Samra told WAFA that settlers from the illegal Israeli settlement of Adi Ad chopped down about 120 olive trees owned by local resident Sa’eed Za’tar.

He added that Za’tar found out that settlers uprooted the trees when he first arrived to his land.

Israeli forces prevent Palestinian farmers from accessing their lands that are near the settlements or behind the apartehid wall unless they get special permits.
