NABLUS, Israeli settlers today pelted a Palestinian vehicle with stones close to Huwara town, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to the Higher Judicial Council.

The Council said in a press statement that Mamoun Kalash, a judge at the Supreme Court, and Abdul-Malek Smoudi, a judge at the Appellate Court of Jerusalem District, were driving their car close to the town when they came under attack from stone-throwing settlers.

The vehicle sustained damages as a result of the attack, but there were no injuries.

Settlers’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Settlers’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

There are over 800,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
