Israeli settlers steal 90 sheep from Palestinian farmer north of Jericho

JERICHO, Israeli settlers today stole 90 sheep from a Palestinian farmer close to Ein al-Auja community, north of the occupied West Bank city of Jericho, according to an attorney.

Mahmoud Ghawanmeh said that a group of settlers broke into the pastures located between the community and al-Muarrajat area, west of the city, assaulted a girl that was grazing her family’s flock of 90 sheep while her father way away and eventually stole the sheep.

The thieves came from the colonial settlement of Kokhav Ha Shahar.

Settler attacks against Palestinians are rising, often they are either aided or protected by Israeli occupation forces.

Israeli settler violence against Palestinians is almost a routine reality in the occupied West Bank, and is rarely prosecuted by the Israeli occupation authorities.

Settlers violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

There are over 800,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
